Further Education Colleges
4.37 The South West has 34 Colleges of Further Education, which provide a wide variety of educational opportunities, including formal qualification-based education such as A Levels and GCSEs, adult education and community-based education, and continuing professional development.
4.38 Of these Colleges, 22 currently have CoVE (Centre of Vocational Excellence) status, in recognition of specialist vocational provision. The CoVE programme has been extended beyond FE colleges to included work-based learning providers (private and voluntary providers, Group Training Associations and the training arms of large companies).
