7.4 Regional Trends is published by the Office for National Statistics and exists to paint a statistical picture of regional areas
within the UK to assist in understanding the complex relationships between locations and the people who live there. Understanding
the differences between regions and differences within our own region is vital to development of sound policies.
Links are provided to the relevant ONS pages and to the specific data sets relevant to this chapter for download . Whilst
the focus is on English regions data is also supplied for Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland to give a broader comparison.
