Confidence in the Police and the Criminal Justice System

9.37 In terms of confidence in the police, 53% of people in the South West considered that their local police did an excellent or good job, compared to 51% for England and Wales as a whole. Meanwhile, the percentage of people in the South West who were very or fairly confident that the criminal justice system was effective in bringing people to justice was 42%, compared to the England and Wales average of 41%. However, the difference between South West and the England and Wales average was not significantly significant for either of these measures.
