How successful is the South West England economy? Did you know...

-In 2006 economic output (GVA) was approximately £90 billion.  
-GVA per head was £17,500 ranking the region the most productive English region outside of the 'Greater South East'.  
-In 2007 the region lost it's crown as the region with the lowest unemployment rate to Northern Ireland, although it remained relatively low at 4.1% (2007 Q3).

What is the role of the BEM?

The BEM provides those responsible for developing business and economic policies within the region with accurate and timely information, intelligence and analysis on all aspects of business and economic activity within the South West. As such the BEM provides a number of products including:
