Culture Matters
Culture Matters together with workshops, events and cultural networks planned for the region give a taste of exactly how culture matters, and show how better outcomes can be achieved using cultural enhancement as a catalyst. We hope that this, and the new conversations that arise as a result, will inspire and help community leaders to encourage and support cultural improvement across the South West.
Mapping the Creative Industries in the West of England
Burns Owens Partnership (BOP) was commissioned by a consortium of local authorities and public-sector bodies in the West of England to map the creative industries across the four local authority districts - the City of Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire, and North Somerset - that make up the sub-region. This project came about in response to a perceived gap in recent research on the creative industries in the South West.
This report begins with an initial review of the existing literature and its context, before turning to a statistical analysis of the data, which was carried out using Experian's National Business Database (NBD) and the Office for National Statistics' (ONS) Annual Business Inquiry (ABI).
