Weathering Storms: Regional Resilience and Future Proofing

The South West Observatory's 6th Annual Conference - 'Weathering Storms: Regional Resilience and Future Proofing' - took place at the British Empire and Commonwealth Museum (Bristol) on Wednesday 11th March 2009.
The Conference sought to address the major issues affecting the region now and in the future. Focusing on the immediate impact of global economic change, to the ever-present challenges posed by climate change, it questioned how prepared the region was to scan the horizon and weather the storms ahead. Clearly, these are big challenges to overcome, but the consistent message which recurred throughout the day, underlined that we will deal best with change only when armed with the best possible evidence and intelligence.
