Transport & Infrastructure

Tuesday 19 March 2013

Presentations from the day are available below.

The final event of SWO's seminar series for 2012/13 focused on transport and infrastructure in light of recent policy moves to devolve local decision making for them.
Drawing together a range of national and local perspectives from the public, private and not for profit sectors, this event was an opportunity to explore local readiness to engage with devolved transport-related responsibilities. It considered how transport priorities could  be arrived at in collaboration with neighbours when transport corridors do not usually neatly fit within authority borders; and the evidence-based case-making for local major schemes, franchise specification, and general connectivity to economic and transport hubs as a means to unblocking barriers to economic growth.
