Office for National Statistics Logo (small)
The latest estimates of regional and sub-regional Gross Value Added (GVA) were released on 9th December 2009.  GVA is a measure of the economic output of an area.
For regions (NUTS 1 areas) the latest estimates are for 2008.  For sub-regions and local areas (NUTS 2 and 3 areas) and for industry groups within all areas, the latest data relate to 2007.
Note: NUTS = Nomenclature of Units for Territorial Statistics.

South West Summary and Data

The ONS South West Regional Team has produced a summary of the latest release that can be found via the link in the right hand column.  It is a 12 page pdf document with information about the region as a whole and its four sub regions and twelve local areas.  The summary also includes a breakdown by Industry.
The Excel workbooks in the right hand column include data and charts that were prepared for the GVA summary.  Other data workbooks reflect requests for information that the team has received about GVA.  These have been included to simplify the process of analysis of some of the data.
